An Advice to the Muslims concerning Muhammad Shareef and the Jamaa’ah of Uthman Dan Fodio

All praise is due to Allaah the rightfully worshipped lord of all that exists, and may his salaah and salaam be upon his noble messenger who has stated that the religion is naseeha (sincere advice)

That which has drawn me to write these humble words down on paper is the obligation to love for my brothers what I love for myself. And no doubt the religion of Islam in its pure unadulterated form is the greatest blessing that any human has ever been given by Allaah.

The following is a short collection of direct statements from Muhammad Shareef abu alfa quoted directly from his works available on the internet. I have added to these statements title headings and verses and hadeeths and statements of the sahaabah and those great scholars and imams that show the lack of agreement of many of his statements with the pure teachings of islaam.

We ask that allah make us and all the muslims firm upon the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam aameen

Making du’a to and Invoking other than Allaah

On page 7 of Glad Tidings to the Community of Ahmad, Muhammad shareef translates

Consequently, the African Muslim sages from all over the bilad’s-Sudan as well as those captured and enslaved in the ‘Diaspora’ of the west were experiencing extraordinary interactions with Shaykh muhy’d-Deen Abd’l-Qaadir al-Jaylaani, may Allah be pleased with him; confirming what Shaykh Ahmad al-bakai al-kunti said in poetic verse:
“He is the best of spiritual guides, the best of watering places
And his disciples are the best of disciples who prevail all others
He is the one who gave spiritual instruction during his life and after it
And redeems those who call out to him in eagerness”.4

The clear evidences from the the qur’aan and sunnah in affirmation are many in number this is due to the most fundamental and primary position that du’aa holds in the religion of islaam. The prophet Muhammad has even stated ad-du’aa’u huwa l-’ibaadah “verily du’aa is worship and the statement of Allah (And your lord said invoke me I will answer you).

More examples of going to extremes in regard to the righteous and Abandoning speaking as an act of worship and the prophet’s clear prohibition of this jaahili practice

Thus, it was the social repression of the muslims in general and Shehu Uthman ibn Fuduye’ in particular which motivated the Shehu to compose ‘the Glad tidings to the community of Ahmad’. His objective was to instruct the Muslim community and the elite among the servants of Allah on the need to transcend time and space and connect with a Spiritual Master whose supplications and spiritual force (madad) were needed at this crucial period. Increasingly, those who were receiving these ‘appearances’ and visions of the Shaykh, were directed to the shehu as being the inheritor and vicegerent of the Qaadiriyya forces in the whole of the Bilad’s-sudan. Just six months after the death of the Shehu, one of his chief students and administrators, Waziri Gidadu, may Allah be merciful to him said in his Rawd’l-janaan describing the first major spiritual opening of the Shehu between 1209 and 1210 A.H. (1794-1795 C.E.):

When the Shehu’s yearning for Allah and messenger Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace intensified, he made a vow to Allah ta’ala that he would adhere to the prayer upon the Prophet (salaat ‘ala’n-nabiyy) may Allah bless him and grant him peace from the commencement of rabi ‘l-awwal, not speaking to anyone until the beginning of rabi ‘l-awwal of the next year. At the completion of his vow the following year, he was miraculously magnetically drawn into the presence of the master of existence, may Allah bless him and grant him peace who said to him, ‘O Uthman! I am your imam and you will never go astray!”

Knowledge of the unseen (ilm ul-ghayb) according to the qur’an sunnah and scholars of the ummah in contrast to the statements Muhammad shareef

Muhammad shareef on his website presents his translation of the following quote of Muhammad bello the son of uthman dan fodio from his book infaaq ul maysoor

He was famous as Dan Fuduye’. He was my father. The protected friends of Allah (al-awliya) foretold of his coming before his appearance… From that is what was related from sound narrators on the authority of Umm Hani al-Fulani, the righteous saintly women when she said: “There will appear in this region of the land of the Blacks, a waliy from among the protected friends of Allah. He will renew the deen, revive the Sunna and establish the religion. The fortunate people will follow him and his remembrance will be spread throughout the horizons. The common people and the elite will obey his commands. Those connected to him will be known as the Jama`aat. Among their signs is that they will not heard cattle, as is the custom of the Fulani. Whoever encounters that time should follow him.” In short, many of the protected friends of Allah recognized him and informed us of his affair even before his appearance and at the time of his appearance as well.
Realize that this shaykh was reared from the time he was young to invite people to Allah. The Shehu said: “As for as the matter of protected friendship with Allah is concerned, for the most that I know about myself is that Allah ta`ala had established me in a spiritual presence which manifested from a divine state, from the time I was a young boy up until the time I reached the age of thirty-one years. I was seized by an instantaneous spiritual magnetic gravitational orbit that emerged from the lights of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, due to the baraka of sending blessings upon him. I was extracted up until I was in the very presence of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, which caused me to continuously weep. In that presence I had an intense desire to recite the poem by Abu Sufyan ibn al-Haarith, may Allah be pleased with him, where he eulogized the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace after his death. Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace ordered me to recite it in his presence, so I began to recite it… When I had recited the poem and reached the point in the poem where I said: ‘And he guided us and now we do not fear misguidance among us, while the Messenger is our guide on the Path’; the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace then said: “Stop there.” So I stopped. He then gave me the good news by his words to me: “I am your guide on the Path of the religion, for you will not go astray.” This good news was better to me than the entire world and what it contained.”

Claiming to see the Prophet in a state of wakefulness.

Muhammad shareef continues by saying:
Subsequently, after the Shehu was persistent in the sending of blessings upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace for an entire year from the beginning of Rabi’l-awwal of 1209 A.H. until the end of Rabi’l-Awwal of 1210 A.H. the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace came to him in the waking state and instructed him on the amount of time needed.

Beliefs concerning the unseen that are totally baseless and unsupported by authentic texts

Muhammad Shareef states in a translation of a qaadiri sufi litany from west Africa that he entitled Hizb of Completion

O Allah! send blessings and abundant peace upon our master Muhammad, whose light preceded the creation, whose appearance was a mercy to the worlds

Muhammad Shareef also quotes from as-sahrawardi in his translation and annotation of umdatilabideen

As-sahrawardi said: ‘Whoever recites this Name by saying ‘ Yaa Hayyu’ 300,000 will never get sick’.”

Muhammad shareef in the following link has translated the following without notation or comment
http://www.siiasi.org/Chapter%205%20The%20City%20of%20Djenne'.pdf

Sonni Ali besieged the city of Djenne’ for four years and did not obtain anything from its people. This was because the spirits of the four righteous Khalifs, Abu bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali may Allah be please with them, guarded the city . Each one of them were stationed at one of the four corners of the city,

You know since I was a young boy in ghettos of America, I never walked away from a confrontation. Its not that I like confrontation, I simply, am a warrior, and love the very idea of martial contest. I say this not to call you out, because, I am too old for that now. (Although, I do believe that if societies brought back the idea of dueling then a lot of slander and backbiting would cease! LOL)
What drew me to your blog was I was hoping to see more credible proofs (dalaa'il) from the sources that you claimed you had to dispute the passages that I translated.
Now, what you posted were NOT my words, they were the words of those i translated. You may take my translations to task, but you cannot blame me for what the authors themselves said or believed.
I was looking up and down the blog for the 'advice' that you promised the world regarding me. I did not see any advice.
As for the last link that you cited which I translated, it came from thw chief judge of Timbuktu Qadi Abd'r-Rahman as-Sad`di in his famous Tarikh as-Sudan.
It looks like you have a problem with Shehu Uthman Dan Fuduye`, Sultan Muhammad Bello, Shaykh Abd'l-Qaadir al-Jaylani, Gidadu ibn Layma and Qadi Abd'r-Rahman as-Sa`di and NOT me!
    I'm just the translator!
So what is that I ACTUALLY said that you have a problem with? let's talk about that before you start eating flesh! It is clear from youtube that you wahabis have no quarms at eating human flesh. But before you tuck your napkin in your jallabiya and start dining, make sure its my flesh you're eating and not that of the scholars, because their flesh is POISON!

jazaka Allah al-khayr Sidi! I only wish some of these 'brothers' would bring the game back. slandering one another behind a computer screen has made this entire generation into cowards! I hope and pray that the Mahdi allows us to revive duels! I bet you all this kind of non-sense will cease!

one more thing, below on this site you have appropriated an icon and an image which defines and validates everything that you quoted from me. Below is one of the key inner gates of the ancient Sankore Masjid/Univesrity. That wooden door is the superb craftmanship of the scholarly modibe` guilds of the city of Tinbuktu. Everything you quoted from me were the confirmed beliefs and convictions of the craft of master builders of the door that adorns your site below . Even the knotches, the metal knobs and their number says: ALLAH. Listen, bro you cant be appropriating and then misappropriating African Islamic Sufic symbols and then dissing it at the same time!

    still your brother
